Celebrate Culture Together at the Northland Ethnic Festival

Spring in Kansas City is a brilliant blend of color, community and culture, and on April 11, 2026, we invite you to immerse yourself in it all at the Northland Ethnic Festival!

Presented by the Ethnic Enrichment Commission of Kansas City, this vibrant festival honors the many cultures that make our region so rich and diverse. From delicious global cuisine and captivating cultural exhibits to music, dance and storytelling, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Food, performances, heritage displays, and community connection will fill the halls of Platte Purchase Middle School from 10am to 5pm, offering a full day of inspiration and learning for families, friends, and neighbors alike.

What You Can Expect

At the Northland Ethnic Festival, you’ll discover:

• A joyful array of ethnic foods and flavors from around the world
Live cultural performances celebrating dance, music and traditions
Interactive exhibits that highlight communities’ unique stories
• A welcoming space to learn and connect with others across cultures

This event is rooted in the spirit of food, fun, and friendship, an open invitation to experience the world without leaving town. The Ethnic Enrichment Commission’s mission is to foster understanding, appreciation and unity through diversity, and this festival is one of their most joyful expressions of that commitment.

Why It Matters

Festivals like this do more than entertain — they build bridges. They give voice to traditions passed down through generations and offer us all a chance to better understand the people who share our community. Together, we celebrate the many threads that weave into Kansas City’s cultural mosaic, strengthening the bonds that help us thrive together.

Save Another Special Date: Juneteenth Celebration – June 6

While you’re marking your calendars for April 11, be sure to save Saturday, June 6 as well! That’s the day of another meaningful spring event, our Juneteenth Celebration honoring freedom, heritage and history (with details coming soon). We’ll share more about the time and location as the date draws near, so keep an eye out and plan to celebrate with us.

Whether you’re savoring global cuisine in April or honoring historic milestones in June, these gatherings remind us how important it is to celebrate heritage, uplift stories and come together as community.

We look forward to seeing you at the Northland Ethnic Festival on April 11, 2026, and again on June 6 for Juneteenth festivities, two events that promise joyful connection, rich cultural experiences, and memories to share.
